Details

The study introduces a foldable arm, inspired by origami, that assists mobile robots and UAVs in reaching confined spaces, with the advantage of being lightweight, compact, and scalable. The result allows shape and stiffness changes to be driven by a single electric motor, enabling effective task performance by a UAV in confined areas.
