Understanding the motion of mobile robots over uneven terrain is critical foundational research that can determine the success of exploration missions in unknown regions. As part of ongoing research on space robot mobility, our lab theoretically analyzes the behavior of rovers driving on sandy terrain and also conducts both simulations and ground experiments. Finally, we aim to design robots optimized for mobility in their intended mission environments.
